Within the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh lies the Kanha and Pench National Parks. Kanha, one of India’s largest National Parks, is prime tiger country and also home to herds of animals. The teak jungle of Pench National Park was the backdrop for Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’. Bandhavgarh is a world renowned tiger reserve and one of India’s most beautiful National Parks.

Pench National Park is situated in Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. It derives its name from the Pench River that flows through the National park from north to south dividing the park into almost equal western and eastern halves- the well forested areas of Seoni and Chhindwara districts respectively.

Embark on morning and afternoon jeep safaris into Kanha National Park – the star success story of the conservation effort Project Tiger launched in 1973. Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. The park derives its name from the most prominent hillock of the area, which is said to be given by Hindu Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana to keep a watch on Lanka (Sri Lanka). Hence the name Bandhavgarh (Sanskrit: Brother’s Fort).
This park has a large biodiversity. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of leopards, and various species of deer. Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the first white tiger in this region in 1951. This white tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa.
