Today we drive north to stunning Wadi Rum. We’ll head out for an exciting jeep tour (4 Hours), and then take a camel ride through the uniquely shaped landscape. We’ll spend the night in a Bedouin- style desert camp under a blanket of stars.
On our way to Petra we’ll stop to visit “Little Petra”. With a history dating back some 9,000 years, it
is one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Middle East.
Today we visit the famous Lost City of Petra, an important junction for the Nabataean silk and spice trade routes. We’ll enter Petra through the Siq, an 800-metre-long gorge flanked by soaring cliffs, before we reach the incredible Treasury, hewn into the cliff face.
This morning we continue north and visit Shobak Castle and the Crusader fortress of Kerak. We’ll then make our way to the lowest point on Earth – the Dead Sea. The salt content of the water here is four times that of most oceans, so you can float without even trying!
Drive 30 Km south of Amman to visit Madaba “the City of Mosaics”. Visit the Greek Orthodox church of St. George where the famous 6th Century Byzantine mosaic map of the holy sites in the biblical world is found. Proceed to Mount Nebo, the place where it is believed that Moses was buried. This afternoon we’ll arrive in Amman, Jordan’s capital, and take a short city-sightseeing tour. Special Experience: This evening we take a cooking class and enjoy our creations for our group farewell dinner.
Today we visit the beautifully preserved Roman cities of Umm Qais and Jerash, as well as the impressive Ajloun Castle, after the tours, back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
