Day 01 : Arrival Chennai

On arrival Chennai meet with our company representative & transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 : Chennai

Today enjoy sightseeing tour. Chennai is popularly referred to as the ‘Gateway to the South’. Among the popular tourist draws of Chennai are included Kalakshetra, Fort St. George that at present houses the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu, the St. Mary’s Church, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Kapaliswara Temple, Mylapore, San Thomas Cathedral Basilica and the Theosophical Society. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 03 : Chennai – Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

Today will find you heading to Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram, located at a distance of 70 kms to the west of Mahabalipuram. Regarded as one of the seven revered cities of Hindus, it has served as the Chola capital in the 2nd century BC. Kanchi enjoys the distinction of being one of the major seats of Tamil learning apart from being an important place of pilgrimage for the Buddhists, Jains and the Hindus. Besides the presence of the temples, the city is also famous for its silk weavers, who settled at this place about four centuries back. We will then be heading on to Mahabalipuram. On your arrival, you are required to check into hotel. You will need to spend the night at the hotel. (B)

Day 04 : Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

Today morning enjoy city tour of Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram, driving south of Madras on the coast lies Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram), the ancient port of Pallavas. The pallavas have created many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam, has a big bas relief, notable for its realistic representation. The world’s largest bas relief measuring 27m x 9m, whale back shaped rock contains figures of gods, demi-gods, men .beasts, birds and representation of the entire creation. Shore Temple, one of the oldest in south dating back to 8th century AD is a good example of the first phase of structural temples constructed in Dravidian style. The Five Rathas, a group of five monolithic temples, each created in different style.

Followed drive to Pondicherry. On arrival Pondicherry check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 05 : Pondicherry

Today is devoted to the sightseeing of Pondicherry. Among the popular tourist draws of Pondicherry are included the Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The founding father of the ashram was Sri Aurobindo whose demise saw the spiritual baton passing on to Mother, one of his disciples. The Mother play a key role in founding the city of Dawn Auroville, located at a distance of 10 km from Pondicherry. The city sightseeing is wrapped up by an overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 06 : Pondicherry – Thanjavur (Tanjore)

Today you will take drive to Tanjore. On the way, you will be visiting Chidambram. Chidambaram, is the seat of the Cosmic Dancer that was dedicated to Lord Nataraja. Sprawling over a land area of 40 acres and flanked with gopurams, the temple is distinguished by the five sabhas or counts. On your arrival in Tanjore, you need to check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, you will be hitting the road on an exploratory tour of Tanjore. Tanjore also referred to as Thanjavur is renowned for the presence of the Brahadeeswarar Temple. Among the other popular tourist highlights are also included the Art Gallery and the Saraswathi Mahal Library. The night is to be spent at the hotel. (B)

Day 07 : Thanjavur – Trichy – Madurai

Today you will take drive to Madurai. On the way visit Trichy – Srirangam is a popular place of interest that is located at a distance of 5 kms from Trichy. The imposing Sri Ranganathaswami temple is bound to command your veneration. On arrival Madurai check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 08 : Madurai

Today day is dedicated to morning sightseeing tour of Madurai also referred to as the Athens of the East. The city located on the banks of the River Vigai is believed to be 2500 years old. You just can’t skip a visit to the magnificent Meenakshi-Sundareswara Temple. The temple features 12 gopurams. The southern gopuram is a brilliant architectural feat with over 1500 sculptures. The afternoon is spent at leisure. In the evening, you will be a part of the Prayer Ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple. The night is to be spent at the hotel. (B)

Day 09 : Madurai – Periyar

After breakfast travel to Periyar, on arrival check in at the resort. Periyar conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills, lush green trees, chirping birds, stunningly beautiful landscape and unending spice-scented plantations. The Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. Afternoon take a spice plantation tour to see crops of cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea estates. On your way back you could stop at the local market and pick up some fragrant spices. Overnight at Periyar. (B)

Day 10 : Periyar – Kumarakom (04 hrs drive)

After breakfast explore the Periyar wildlife sanctuary on the boat, the sanctuary centerpiece being the splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam, meanders around the contours of the wooden hills, providing a perennial source of water for the wildlife and is home to Tiger, bison, wild boar, sambar, monkeys, wild elephants, antelopes and a wide variety of birds. There are over 260 species of birds here; including Nilgiri Wood Pigeons, blue-winged Parakeets, White bellied Tree Pies, laughing Thrushes and Fly Catchers. After visit check out and drive towards Kumarakom. Evening is at leisure with overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Day 11 : Kumarakom – Alleppey (45 mins drive)

Morning after breakfast check out and drive to Alleppey to embark Overnight Houseboat where you will en board the traditionally decorated houseboats, you will start an over night backwater cruise which will end on next day Morning at Alleppey. Overnight at Houseboat. (B,L,D)

Day 12 : Alleppey – Cochin (01½ hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast disembark the houseboat and travel to Cochin. On arrival Cochin check into hotel. Later enjoy sightseeing tour to the nearby peninsula, discover the remains of Fort Cochin and St Francis church, the oldest church in India. Built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan monks and worshipped by Roman Catholics, Dutch Protestants and the Anglicans is a wonderful site to visit. On your way back stop at the spice shops selling cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and a host of other spices. Evening witness Kathakali dance show – a famous classical dance drama of Kerala, in an auditorium. Overnight at Cochin. (B)

Day 13 : Cochin departure

Today you will transfer to international airport catch your flight to your onward destination.
